The Last Musketeer by Stuart Gibbs

4.0

Reid and I read this out loud to each other over the course of Labor Day weekend. I got it from the library in the hopes that a swashbuckling series would have him interested but he refused to pick it up, so I started reading it aloud and he was interested immediately and did not want to stop. Stuart Gibbs does that. In this one a young boy (and his parents) time travel back to meet up with the three musketeers. It is inventive and interesting for sure. It made me want to read the Alexander Dumas Novel to see what he pulled from it besides characters. Unlike other books (ex. Land of stories) where people are pulled out of their world, this one doesn’t end with them going back, it just sets up a new adventure. Not sure how I feel about that, but overall a quick fun read.
