I'd read these poems in my collection of Plath's collected works, but that was over 10 years ago. Revisiting these texts, experiencing the collection as published (instead of the chronological way in which I'd consumed her writing before) cast new light on the themes presented. "Light" being relative as what was most illuminated was the recurring imagery of shadows and decay. (=
