As a massive Cosmere and Brandon Sanderson fan, I was really excited to dive into this novel. And I have to say, it's a classic Brandon Sanderson novel, so you KNOW the magic systems and the worldbuilding elements are going to be top-notch. In fact, I'd say that the description of characters and settings in this story are probably the strongest parts of the book. However, compared to the Mistborn or Stormlight Archive books (or even Warbreaker, or Sanderson's Skyward YA series), I feel like Elantris just didn't capture me in the same way. The pacing of the story felt a lot slower than his other novels (even ones that are quite a bit longer in terms of page count), and I felt like there was barely any action happening in the story. That being said, the characters are quite compelling, and at the end of the day, I ended up finishing the book.

I would definitely recommend the book to readers who are interested in the Cosmere, or who haven't read Sanderson before. This novel isn't his best, but it's definitely worth a read if you are invested in the Sanderson's fantasy series, and want to read more!
