I received a free copy of this book from Edelweiss. This is my honest opinion.
DNF at 32%.
I was relatively excited for this book when I downloaded it, since I absolutely love books centered around Russian fairy tales, and have recently discovered how much I enjoy MG books.
However, once I started reading, I quickly discovered that this falls a little more squarely into the YA range instead of MG. And I just couldn't get into the book at all.
The characters were all fairly flat. I really struggled to connect to any of them, or to get invested in the story at all, and wound up giving up. I liked the general premise of the story, but it just wasn't a good fit for me, personally.
