We Need to Talk About Kevin
by Lionel Shriver
Extremely dark and disturbing, this book forces the reader to confront the nightmarish topic of a school shooting from the point of view of the shooter's mother - an unrelenting narrator with basically nothing left to lose. I cannot claim to understand exactly what drew me in and kept me reading, but I surprisingly enjoyed this book.
