As a direct continuation on from Network Effect, it was good to again see how realistic and fleshed out the world of The Murderbot Diaries is. Nothing has an easy or simple solution and actions have consequences and ramifications.
I absolutely loved seeing more of ART, and ART and Murderbot's friendship is so important to me. For a lot of this book they're working together to keep their humans safe, and I love it when they're on exactly the same page, just as much as I love it when one of them shoots the other one down for being too cautious or unrealistic, because they both love their humans so much.
I also really liked how much this book dealt with Murderbot's trauma from the horrific things it's been through, in particular in Network Effect. I really hope we continue to see Murderbot heal and grow throughout the series. There has already been so much incredible character development and nuance in Murderbot as a character throughout the series, every book is a joy to read!
