Unteachable by Elliot Wake

I was intrigued by the cover and the plot of the book. A modern forbidden romance? SIGN ME UP!
I am a huge fan of romantic comedies, they are my guilty pleasure. Whenever I feel a bit down, those are my go-to movies.
But with books it's different: I'm not a huge fan of romances in books, mainly because of the "insta-love" that I find ridiculous.
This was a nice surprise. It's a story of love, lust, attraction and sex. A LOT OF SEX.
Apparently,I didn't notice the "erotic" label... I've never read an erotic novel before and I wasn't completely comfortable with it: I just wasn't expecting it! And I felt it was sometimes unnecessary: ok, we get it. They are REALLY into each other!
Quickly summoning the plot, the novel is about a forbidden romance between a high school student and her teacher. And all I could think about were Erza and Aria from Pretty Little Liars. Obviously, this is A LOT more R-rated and frankly a lot more realistic than the relationship portrayed on PLL. This also influenced my imagination! Even though the character's appearances were different from Ezra and Aria, I kept imagining their faces!

I was not into the book until the second half, let me just point this out. But after the unnecessary sex and frankly the weird and unexplained thing with the druglord, I really enjoyed it!
It became more real, we got more into the story and we got to know the characters better. Because before the only thing we really knew about them was their sex lives.

Anyway, I liked it... Not sure if I'll check out more of Leah Raeder's books but still: if you are looking for an erotic romance that's not dull or stupid or badly written, this is for you!
