A Wedding for Christmas by Lori Wilde

4.0

A Wedding for Christmas is book 7 in the Twilight, Texas series. I know I'm a bit late on reviewing this but it turned out to be a really good read that can be read any time of year, not just Christmas. It has one of my favorite tropes in romance, the hunky guy falling for his best friend's sister.

We start off meeting Katie who swapped houses with a friend for Christmas so she can hang out in LA and escape reality. Her fiancee passed away not too long ago so she really needs it. What she doesn't expect while out at a bar is getting tackled by a bodyguard who thinks she's his employer's stalker. We find out quickly that Ryder Southerland, the bodyguard in question is really her brother's best friend and her childhood crush. Sparks fly and one thing leads to another and they decide to have a one time fling. Katie heads back to her hometown Twilight, Texas and after a year of not seeing Ryder she has to face the music. You see, her brother is getting married and both Katie and Ryder are part of the wedding. What could go wrong?

I wound up falling in love with A Wedding for Christmas. I already know I'll be buying all the books in the series since I skipped ahead to book 7. I loved the small town feel and the characters really shined. Katie's character in particular I enjoyed from start to finish and the author really conveyed how conflicted Ryder was on wanting a relationship but living so far away. Overall the writing was superb and I'll need more of this series asap. If you're a fan of Contemporary Romance with a small town setting, I suggest you try this series.
