This was one of the better ones in the series. She is very quirky, which ended up getting me to laugh at quite a few places. It was reminiscent of the first book. They had a great chemistry but the reason for the lack of bond was a little too stretched as there always is some reason for the lack of bond. In each of these book, so why the surprise or thought that it might not come? I was really happy that she didn't do her normal and of climax routine and make the woman and men look idiotic.
Spoiler in may she uses the battle scene to separate the couple and then the bad guy always seems to be able to get a hold of the heroine. It didn't happen here. Instead she used the right on the edge of life, the heart beat stopping and bond broken, trope.
Still it was different, just a little too much of a last minute save. It brought down my enjoyment of the book right at the end. Still a really good read and now I want more.
