The story and world building of The Deep contains so much depth especially given the length of the book which sucked me in in a way that a book hasn’t in years. I also greatly appreciated Rivers Solomon ability to move through different points in time/history since these deviations further fleshed out the wajinru culture. My only critique would be that the resolution of the story did come around a tad to fast for my taste but I understand where it was coming from. Overall while readers should anticipate a potentially challenging read given the themes of trauma, this is a fantastic book that I would highly recommend if you are in the right headspace!
