I have read a lot of books written by Anna Sparrows, and there are a lot of books that I have highly enjoyed. I think that “Rowan’s Renewal” might be up there with my favorites not just from the author but in the DDlb genre. It is technically book 2 in the Kinks & Conundrums series, while also being a part of the DKAG Summer Shorts multi author series. This is a book that can stand alone but I recommend reading the other books in the series and the wider world at some time. They are all worth the read.
This short novella centers around Rowan, Aaron, and what almost feels like fate. Rowan’s friend buys him a vacation for a week at a resort far from home but a mix up leaves him the roommate for another resort guest, Aaron. Things progress from there and it was lovely to read. Aaron is perfect for Rowan and Rowan is perfect for Aaron. There are hurt/comfort situation in this book but there is also humor, heart, steam, and a feeling of community and belonging. It is a great novella and I wish it were longer. It is great as is but the characters are ones I am not ready to let go of yet and I hop to see them in future books and maybe their own short stories.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
