  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? Yes
  • Loveable characters? It's complicated

5.0

Edit: the author let me know the note message was revealed, I just missed it. It's in chapter 22. Updating my rating to 5 stars.

Although the plot was pretty common and you saw the reveal coming, this book had my anxiety through the roof and my stomach in knots. Not many books give me such a visceral feeling. I absolutely loved this book.

Would have been a 5 star read but I'm disappointed that the message of the note to Juno from her sister wasn't revealed.

Read this if you enjoy horror, thrillers, isolation, islands, domestic horror, dysfunctional families, remote settings.
