Dracula
by Bram Stoker
Certainly repetitive and overlong, and exhaustive in detail about things I never found myself much interested in, this is still a classic for a reason. I liked the main group of characters and their confident love of each other and desire to protect their fellow people - even at great personal risk. Some of the gothic horror sequences are truly brilliant, though a number happened so much off the page (even in the letter/ diary format) that they were less exciting than they might have been.
In terms of this version, I'm not sure the book really lends itself too well to a full cast audio production - mostly due to the epistolary format. The multiple performers were enjoyable, but I didn't think it added that much more than having Simon Vance (clearly the most talented) do the whole thing.
