The Librarian of Burned Books
by Brianna Labuskes
I really enjoyed this book. A heavy topic told with careful thought. I would say the baseball scene was my favourite. Really brought together two characters while simultaneously bringing me to tears thinking about how heavy a time the war was. And how much joy a game can bring to a single moment in time. I loved how the timelines ended up matching up. And I guess I should have known they would, but I was surprised each time how they connected. Labuskes did a great job on making the characters relatable to me anyways. I tend not to really enjoy books that jump to different views, the way it was done was great. Left just enough for me to need to read the next chapter to get back to next one. And I never found myself lost or confused on which character I was on. Loved it.
