Amazing, show stopping, spectacular, one of a kind, etc etc the whole Lady Gaga gif!! My favorite of the series so far for sure because of how seamlessly it weaves the usual character studies and personal dilemmas of the girls into the very real and tumultuous political reality of post war Italy. The way Elena’s forays into feminist theory seem so natural and are presented with the same sort of throw away mentions as the books she was reading in school just to improve her language skills as if now she’s not basically being radicalised (which she kind of isnt!! all that theory she reads and even WRITES seems to affect her actual choices so little in the end) it was just so so good. I love this book!!
