Normal People by Sally Rooney

Gorgeous book. Is it cheesy for me to say that it's a modern classic? The whole time you are thinking "Why don't they just talk to each other?" But that's not quite right because they DO talk. It's such an interesting way to develop characters and their relationship. The author drops characters' flaws in so delayed and effortlessly it's like you're getting to know them in real life. Rose colored until you realize casually that they have shortcomings. The author is so good at taking you to flashbacks and back so easily. Loved this. One of my favorites of the year and of all time.
