Graphic Classics Volume 4: H. P. Lovecraft - 2nd Edition by Rod Lott, Alex Burrows, H.P. Lovecraft

2.0

This one is disappointing to me, as I had a difficult time getting into this, even as a massive H.P Lovecraft fan. I was curious to see how this book handled adapting Lovecraft’s stories, because they tend towards being difficult to adapt.

I feel that the art often clashed with the stories they tell. Personally, I found Dreams In The Witch House and, in particular Reanimator, to suffer the most from it. In addition, I felt like the stories were paced in such a way that made it difficult for the horror and atmosphere to settle in.

My favorite adaptation is The Shadow Out of Time, which I found very lovely.
