I really struggled to rate this book because the parts of it were fantastic but other parts were awful.
Claire is a strange main character because she is strong but she is also emotionless (which is very dull at times). The few times she has a reasonable emotional reaction she quickly returns to blandness and forgives everything. Reminds me Jo in little women being told off by her mum but unrealistically shortened.
