An Expert in Murder
by Nicola Upson
This is a really excellent novel. Set in the 1930s in the theatrical world, this mystery really has the feel of Dorothy Sayers to me. (I had no idea that some of the characters and events were based on actual people and that Josephine Tey was a mystery writer at the time.) The characters and their relationships take prominence over the mystery, while still being intricately tied to it. I found the characters all both very like-able and very real. Highly recommended, especially to Golden Age mystery fans.
