Iep Jāltok: Poems from a Marshallese Daughter by Kathy Jetn̄il-Kijiner

5.0

As part of a loose readalong/challenge in my book community, we picked up books from the Marshall Islands. I'm glad I picked this one and I'm glad I ordered it as a physical copy rather than an ebook because I know I'll be going back to it.

The poems are crisp and bright, both beautiful and painful. They're easy to read (I'm not a huge fan of dense poetry) but full of substance. I learnt a lot about both the Marshall Islands and the author.
