I really love Gabimaru and Sagiri. Despite being raised to be a killer Gabimaru is still a human with emotions. He grapples with who he truly is and how the world he lives in wants him to be. Sagiri was able to see through him and his struggle resonated with her and helped her to understand her own emotions in regards to her role as an executioner.
I loved that she helped him realise that those emotions are not a weakness but a strength and that is what makes us human. Two people who were raised as weapons to kill without question trying to defy that and live as people.
It's really sweet how much Gabimaru loves his wife and the way she helped him find a reason to live without senseless killing... I really hope they reunite.
