The Quiet House by Lily Morton

5.0

#1 The Mysterious and Amazing Blue Billings: ★★★★★ | 5 stars
#2 The Quiet House: ★★★★★ | 5 stars

This was absolutely everything I wanted in a sequel. 10/10 would recommend.

Levi Black and Blue Billings are in a good place. They've mostly moved on from the events of the first book (set about a year prior). Levi is looking forward to Blue finally moving in with him, and Blue is starting to accept that he does deserve good things. His psychic abilities have grown, and he's working with Tom to hone his skills. But, when Blue's father shows up on Levi's doorstep with an ominous invitation, things go off the rails pretty quickly. Levi, Blue, and Tom find themselves staying at an incredibly haunted house and it's not just ghosts they have to contend with.

I'm not going to lie, this book had me completely freaked out (though I am a scaredy cat - so take that with a grain of salt). I thought it was even creepier than the first book. But, it was balanced so well with the romance between Blue and Levi and snarky one liners from Tom. And, I really loved that while there were some relationship bumps in this, the main plot had Levi and Blue on the same side. I love the way these two communicate and talk things out.

Three Thoughts:
1. I just adore Tom. (And Will.)
2. I still think Blue's dad is a dick. Even if he's not all bad.
3. The found family feels got turned up to 10 in this book, and I'm not mad about it.

I loved everything about this, and would honestly read a dozen books about these two goofballs solving spooky mysteries and being in love.
