This cute YA romance was a perfect palate cleanser. Margot and Zach meet in Paris, where they have one magical night. He's travelling, and she's about to start culinary school, so they agree to meet one year later in New York. But she gets lost, is late arriving, he's not waiting, and they never exchanged contact details. Ben, a sympathetic colleague, offers to help Margot try and track Zach down. This read very much like a love letter to NYC, and I loved traipsing around the city with Margot and Ben. They are both cooks, and apart from professional food talk, their travels around NYC take in a lot of food spots. Reading this made me hungry, so I recommend having a snack or two on hand. This book features a great cast of characters, a delightful unconventional family, and an important message about not being afraid to chase your dreams - but also recognising when it is time to let go of a dream. A fun undemanding read that brought a smile to my face.
