Dork Diaries: Crush Catastrophe by Rachel Renée Russell
5.0
This was a big step up after that last book. This book was far more engaging and had a lot more substance than the previous one.
This book is filled with so much drama. And. I. Love. It. Honestly, it is such a drama fest that I was just having a great time revealing in all of the crazy twists and turns that this book had to offer.
This one was seriously addicting and I flew through it. Although I prefer the format of a month per book, these ones where it is only a week are easier to get absorbed into (even though it is VERY unrealistic to write a 300 page diary in like 10 days).
This book was also really funny. I actually had moments in it where I would laugh out loud. The humour in these books just really gels with my comedy taste, I guess.
I also quite like how we’re introducing another potential love interest (although I am team Branikki all the way). I think it’s going to be a great opportunity for Nikki to grow as a person and honestly, maybe learn more about herself.
My only criticism is that I think that the last section of the book was much too rushed. So much happened in the last fifty pages and honestly I was a little confused at points. I wish that we’d gotten more time for some resolutions and for the last ideas to be explored more thoroughly. I also felt that it ended quite suddenly. Like, I’m not sure why, but I just felt that the ending came out of nowhere and it was just suddenly over
