I suppose given that this book is 3/4 of a century old, I expected the prose to be more opaque. I was delighted by how straightforward it was. I think a lot of these ideas have been foundational to other sources that I've read in my life, and people who have taught me, so while I would say that the contents of this book were not new to me, it was nonetheless really inspiring and thought-provoking to see them presented in a source that is significantly older than most writings I've encountered around the nature of race, religion, and power. I would highly recommend this book.
