Slow burn pay off (spice 🌶️). More time with side character that you loved previously. A bit of clunkiness. More mystery. Cliff hangers.
I found this book a bit harder to read. There was A LOT going on. A couple of new mysteries are introduced but there is also the general build up to the cliff hanger, plus we are exploring new characters + diving into the old ones more...plus spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️. It was a lot to take in.
I still enjoyed this story because I love the characters and world but I found myself putting this book down more throughout the day.
The cliff hanger's resolution is definitely something that I join everyone else in looking forward to. I also thoroughly enjoyed all of the time we spend with the secondary characters and I can't wait to see how their stories unfold further. (Day and Night, the wolves, Hypaxia, Tharion and the mer, the Governor, and the 4 rings. Please don't disappear with the next book. 🙏)
Still a wonderful book but I wouldn't be honest if I didn't mention the clunkiness.
