Overgrowth

This is definitely my new favorite alien invasion story.
Anastasia Miller, Stasia to her friends, has not been shy about the fact that she is not human. She will readily tell you that she is the vanguard of an invading alien species. Unfortunately no one believes her, despite the fact that she's been saying this since the day she returned from disappearing into the forest at the age of 3. While some write it off as a silly quirk, many steer clear of the crazy "alien" who has clearly got a few screws lose.
That is until an astronomer broadcasts a seemingly alien signal and now the whole world must decide if it's a hoax or not. Is there an invasion coming? Are there really aliens hiding amongst the humans?
Stasia's going to find out soon if her inner circle, or even herself or that matter, can handle the truth (or not) of her alien origins.
I really enjoyed the storytelling style of this one. Stasia, while claiming to be an alien, is a very relatable character who loves cats more than humans and has a small circle of friends and just wants to dress casually and enjoy life. The story is reasonably fast paced and has a lot of classic sci-fi, border line horror feelings and moments. Things definitely get dark and there's definitely some death, but overall I found it a very enjoyable story, if you like this sort of story that is.
