Rating: ★★
I was so excited for this book and felt a little let down with everything that has happened in the middle. [b:Red, White & Royal Blue|41150487|Red, White & Royal Blue|Casey McQuiston|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1566742512l/41150487._SY75_.jpg|61657690] had been amazing, fast-paced, and full of romance and I absoulutely adored it. It's unfortunate that I did not find the same type of magic that was in that book in this one. On the other hand, I'm very happy that a lot of people loved this novel.

The things that I like
☽ Jane and August. Their chemistry is unbelievable. The tension was really there! I was excited for the two of them and was wishing them for the best. I honestly stuck around this book for the sole reason that I want to know what happened to the two of them and I have to say that I am happy with the ending.
☽ ALL THE REPRESENTATIONS IN THIS BOOK. Trust me, you'll be swimming in it. I loved it for all of them.

The things that I DID NOT like
☾ Lack of personality. I don't think I found a lot of personality from the two main characters. In fact, I liked the personalities of the side characters better. But at the same time, I am not interested in a single one of them.
☾ THE LENGTH and the plot. I think this book could have been cut down to 300 pages. It was tedious to get through especially because the plot did not really have much room to move in.
☾ The X scenes. I enjoyed reading about it, no doubt. BUT... Uhm, how do you keep making out in public? HAHA. I can't wrap my head around it! It's probably full of germs there. I mean--

☾ SETTING. I am honestly not sure if we should have delved into this time travel fiasco. I don't think the mystery of this book had the right foundations and executions. It literally came out of nowhere and they have no supporting facts and evidences for it. How does it really happen? It can be magic, of course, but I want it be explained in detail!!
☾ CONVENIENCE. Everything that August needed was there. Should I just believe that she was really meant to be there and how much she was so connected with Jane? I don't think so. I'm not buying it.
☾ Slow pacing. Maybe the plot did not really go slow, but it was so because there was so many parts for the side characters. This book is conversation-heavy, especially with the roommates. They talk about things that do not really add to the grand scheme of things. There were also times that the situations get repeatedly told to different people... and... it was so much work!

In sum:
I think this book is not just for me. I did not think that the main idea's concept had been explored to its greatest potential. The love story in itself was cute and the ending was great.
I recommend this to people who enjoy lenghty romance reads and for people who liked their side characters having a lot of parts in the book.
