The Club: How the Premier League Became the Richest, Most Disruptive Business in Sport by Jonathan Clegg, Joshua Robinson

5.0

Sometimes sports books like this are shallow and clumsy, but this one seemed to me to be well-written and carefully researched. It tells an engaging history of the world's most popular sports league, while effectively underlining that history with the fact that the more money gets pumped into this thing, the further it strays from what its oldest supporters love about it. I'm not sure if reading this made me more or less interested in following the Premier League, and I think in part that might be what the authors are shooting for.
