Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez

5.0

I have never disliked an Abby Jimenez book, and the streak continues.
As always, this book features an INCREDIBLE MMC. Justin personifies "If he wanted to, he would." A man that sends surveys & formal date invites is music to my type A ears. He's a great balance of funny, flirty, & caring. Even with his own traumas he is king of putting the people he loves first.
Emma is where a lot of the depth comes in. She is actively dealing with a toxic mother and suffering the worst effects possible. What I loved about Emma, is her ability to see the best in others. And even when trying to keep up her walls, she can't help but let Justin and his family seep in the cracks.

The side character's were great. Maddy specifically stole my heart. She was an amazing friend. She knew when to push Emma and when to just shut up and support her. Based on the end of the book, I don't expect we will ever get her story and that is my only negative about this book.

This book has a ton of cameos from the previous books. You don't NEED to read them first, but I would highly recommend it.
