Beloved by Corinne Michaels
5.0

These two novels literally sucked me in and I could not even function as an adult until I had them both finished. Corinne writes these beautiful stories that get you wrapped up in the characters, you hurt when they hurt, you laugh when they laugh

Catherine has witnessed two of the men she loved most in the world let her down and walk away from her: her father and her fiance. After finding her fiance sleeping with her friend she decides to give up on love. Sometimes love finds you even if you aren’t looking for it and it literally drops you in someone’s lap. Jackson is mesmerized by Catherine from the second she falls into his lap.

These two stories take you on an emotional adventure of loving themselves and loving each other. Catherine struggles with her confidence and to believe that she is good enough for a man. Even though Jackson has treated her better than any man has, she can’t trust that he will stay. Jackson has gone through many traumatic things being in the military that affect him everyday. And when tragedy places him back in the middle of things it could cost him his life or his relationship.

Jackson and Catherine’s love story was beautiful, when they were together they were perfect, when they were apart it was horrible. They both had things to learn about relationships. I loved witnessing them grow together so they could be a better person for the other.

This duet was intense with very real feelings and very emotional events that had me crying or angry. Since this has been out for a long time I was able to read them back to back which was great. I honestly can’t wait to read about some of the other characters next.
