Christmas at Holiday House by RaeAnne Thayne

3.0

This was very enjoyable and sweet. I LOVED the setting - THE HOLIDAY HOUSE! I want to go there. I also really loved Winnie, and Christopher was a cute addition to the story and reminded me of my son. I liked Abby and Ethan a lot, and appreciated having both of their perspectives. One of my fave things in a romance.

I didn't love how Abby's past trauma was kind of glossed over... just a personal preference. I do recognize it had been some time since her husband was killed and she would have probably worked through some aspects of that, but it felt like it was made light of. To only kind of offhand mention it a couple of times felt jarring.

Also, Lucy's perspective really bogged down the story for me. I wasn't invested in her at ALL and wanted to skip her chapters. I know she was the connection between Abby and Ethan, but I didn't need her romance inserted in as well. Should have been a separate book, perhaps a sequel or spinoff or something.

Definitely enjoyed Abby and Ethan, though! Their journey and relationship warmed my heart and was very enjoyable. All the Christmas vibes, the town, the holiday house tour, it was all Christmasy happy perfection. Just could have done without a few things and I would have given it a higher rating.
