Taming the Storm by Samantha Towle
4.0

There is nothing like a good man-whore and Tom “Rub the Lamp” Carter DID NOT disappoint. He is a rockstar, a “mut”, an easy-going lovable guy. He is someone who would do anything for the people he cares for most. So, he strikes up a deal to change his “mut” ways.

Lyla “Firecraker” Summers is a lead singer for her band “Vintage”. After catching her boyfriend cheating, she decides that the last straw and sweats off men. (Metaphorical “Chasity Belt” and all) With her band about to go on tour, Lyla discovers that Tom Carter is going to be their tour manager for the six week stint. The last thing Lyla wants is a Man-Slut hanging around her band.

“You-you’re a…mother-effing mut!” I hiss. “Yeah, and you’re the sexiest fucking thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Sleep well, Firecracker.”

As the tour moves forward Lyla and Tom develop a friendship, with A LOT of sexual tension in the air. The more they spend time together the harder it is to keep things platonic. Their attraction in intense and their chemistry is EXPLOSIVE.

I absolutely adored Tom. He just kept you smiling the whole time. Sure, he was an asshole here and there but he made up for it when it counted.

Lyle was a lovable character. Even after all the shit that she had to endure throughout her life, I admired the way she pushed through.

“That this is it…you and me…we’re forever. You’re my heaven, Firecracker.”
