Somewhere between three and four stars. Had I rated it right after reading, I would probably have given it four stars because I did enjoy it and read it pretty fast. I liked Jacks and for me, Evangeline felt a bit novel as a protagonist (which she probably isn't, just compared to books I've been reading). I liked the storybook vibes, especially in the beginning.
However, I let it sink in for a day and there are some minor problems (like how annoyingly naïve Evangeline can be and how events are often told by Evangeline reminiscing about them at length), but the major problem is that the plot is really all over the place. There was potential, and at the beginning I enjoyed what sometimes felt like sidequests, but in the end I have a hard time telling what the main plot even was. So, I'm going with 3 stars. Not saying you shouldn't read the book, I still had fun, but maybe lower your expectations.
