It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover
4.0
I've read three of Colleen Hoover's books, incluing this one, and none of them had exceptional writing or strong three-dimensional characters. It is her depiction of complex and impactful stories that make her books so good, and It Ends With Us is no exception.
When people talk about this book, its always about Atlas. But its so much more than that. It Ends With Us shines light on abusive relationships and being homeless in a way that the reader understands what it's like to suffer from those situations – something many authors fail to do. Its a very sad and emotional story that made me cry more times than I care to admit.
While I am not particularly fond about Hoover's writing, this is her best work. This book is incredibly quotable. There are so many quotes that relate to human nature and relationships that really make you think and wanna cry.
Focusing on the characters, I loved all but one. Atlas is, of course, the most perfect man ever. I can't wait to explore more about his current character in the next novel. I really liked Marshall. He brought in some desperately needed comedic relief. But my favourite, probably in the whole book, is Allysa. She's quirky and honest and an incredible friend. Her and Lily's bond melts my heart.
