Sam never ceases to hit it out of the ballpark with everything they write. Dragon Found is no different. You love, hate, cry, and live with the characters that Sam creates.
"My dragon is not big enough, not good enough, and neither am I." The way I cried when I read this line. The way my heart broke for Glimmer and Lady Pippa Wentworth.
Pippa is tall, thin, and boyish, and she is perfect. Her love for herself, her care for those who once worked for her and her father, hell the care for the pigs, all show how grand of a human being she is.
As this is a Cinderella retelling, there is an evil stepmother and an evil step-sibling. They turn the whole of the town against Pippa. People who had watched her grow up, people who made her and her father believe they had their best interests at heart… Turned against her, at the behest of two complete and absolute pieces of trash.
I was beyond happy when they both got what was coming to them. I'm not sure though if it was better or worse than cutting off parts of your foot to fit in a shoe..
Anyway…
These are the sort of stories, that people speak about years after they were created. These are the stories that end up cult classics.
I highly recommend reading this, and anything Sam Hall writes.
