Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella

3.0

I thought it would be fun to read this before watching the movie. It was a quick, light read. At first I thought the character would annoy me too much, but I got over it. Part of me enjoyed the superiority knowing that I have way better control of my finances than she does. Another part of me relates with her "logic" when it comes to sticking to my goals (like nutritious eating... "I don't have to count that as a whole cookie, since I left a crumb on the plate, right?"). In all, it's an entertaining treatment of the way we talk to ourselves about whatever it is we're doing/not doing.
