The Simple Wild
by K.A. Tucker
*listened to as an audiobook*
WOW.
I never expected to go into this and genuinely enjoy it, like not at all. I picked it as a tester audiobook because I had heard some hype about it and it sounded like it could either be great or absolutely horrible. Luckily, it was beyond great. This is definitely a top contender of my favourite books. I’m really glad I chose the audio route though! I enjoyed listening to the emotions of the narrator I think it made it even more enjoyable.
This is one of the best romance books, and honestly the romance isn’t even the main focus or it didn’t feel like it for me. I do love a enemies to lovers romance which was great! This book felt more like a general fiction with a hint of romance, which maybe is what it’s marketed as? I just feel like I’ve always seen it as a romance, near the end it definitely felt more like a romance but, for the first 3/4 it was just a really well written and portrayed story. I loved getting to actually know the main character, and going on the journey of going to Alaska for the first time that she can remember. I also enjoyed that I really had the chance to learn about the other characters too. It was a really detailed read and very enjoyable .
I’m also very glad I was working during the last few chapters, those were emotional and tear jerkers for sure.
This is definitely a read I can see myself reading again. It also felt weirdly nice to listen to the struggles of someone who also had a mismatched relationship with her father go through the emotions of meeting him and all that was to come..
I can’t wait to read more K.A Tucker!
