Kalte Narben by Karin Slaughter

4.0

Atlanta’s queen crime writer, Karin Slaughter is back with her famous character, Will Trent with BUSTED, (#6.5 Will Trent Series) a novella and prequel to her novel, UNSEEN. (I love Novellas)!

Detective Will Trent is an undercover cop as the ex-con Bill Black with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and is about to zoom in on the most corrupt town in the South—Macon, GA (definite good ole boys).

Readers will meet some crazy characters as an introduction to upcoming UNSEEN. Maw-Maw, a bigot and as quirky and evil as they come, a Lil-Dixie Gas-n-Go, a frozen Slurpee, an armed robbery, a motorcycle, lots of humorous one liners, wise cracks, sarcasm, and as always, action packed! Readers meet Amanda, Trent’s boss (love her in the other books too), and his partner, Faith as they investigate this corrupt town south of Atlanta.

I listened to the audiobook version narrated by Kathleen Early, and again an outstanding job, and would highly recommend UNSEEN, as well.

Be sure and read Slaughter’s latest, COP TOWN, as was my first read by Karin, and working my way back to read her previous books in the Will Trent series. (Yes, I am jumping all over the board); however, keeping up with the players!
