once again a historically significant and very sweet (at least as far as idgie and ruth are concerned) novel. obviously i had some issues lmao specifically with the sheriff and the ignorant racism and the sheriff being part of the kkk (but somehow one of the “good” ones?) and idgie still being friends with him and the absolute hatred of fat people. i’m sure white ppl had a feel good with this one in the 80s. progressive for its time but dated now. but idgie and ruth were soooo cute

6.5/10 or 3/5 & e-book (idgie and ruth 10/10, the whole poorly thought out racism side plot 0/10, evelyn and mrs threadgoode add 1.5 which equals to a solid 6.5)
