Black Clover, Vol. 4 by Yûki Tabata
3.0
Edging a bit closer to a 4 now. Not there yet, but I'm digging this.
There's a huge attack on the capital by a group of evil wizards. So they call upon the knights to try and stop them from destroying everything. But mid battle they get taken out of the playing field and it's up to Astra and the youngins to defend the city. Leaving it to some funny battles, some brutal ones, and a ending that did leave me a bit shocked.
The action is clear and easy to follow, the build up to the moves is cool, and the pacing is quick. The thing is, it's a typical shonen and it knows it. It has the main character saving the day but it somehow is entertaining. I'm hoping with a shocking defeat to a character we'll get into a dark territory and give the villains some meat. But for now, it is still fun to read.
A 3.5 out of 5.
