Although the magic system was interesting, I really didn’t connect with the characters. There also felt like an abundance of exposition dump to explain the world that didn’t feel cohesive with the story. There were several times where the information about both the magic and the world felt repetitive. Overall not a bad book, but there are too many great books in the world to spend my time finishing this, especially when I don’t see myself finishing the series. 3.5⭐️
