Barracoon: The Story of the Last "Black Cargo" by Zora Neale Hurston
4.0
A very smooth, quick read. The writing made it seem like you were sitting right there eating peaches with Cudjo and Zora Neale Hurston. There’s a cloud of melancholy over the novel as you feel Cudjo’s loneliness in his reminiscing. But at the same time you can feel his wisdom and joy he has in his words and how he spends time with Hurston.
