challenging hopeful inspiring medium-paced

I really liked the underlying ideas of this book and this is maybe the most approachable growth mindset has ever felt to me, which is really nice because I have often struggled a ton with embodying that and internalizing it and so it has been very worrisome to potentially impart that to kids. But the embodied process of growth and regulation and communication felt really meaningful here as did the communication tactic of two things are true and I kept seeing places even like in my romantic and work life where that could be applied. I did find some of the anecdotes a bit alienating because my reaction was always just "have they considered just being way less controlling" or "have they considered just being more discerning about screen access and presence" (though of course this is ironically much more thoroughly controlling) but I really liked the situation-strategy-application format of the chapters that made the strategies feel practicable.
