This is a horrible book about horrible people who ne er go anywhere or do anything.
Admittedly, I don't particularly like Mantel's style - I think she includes a lot of extraneous detail at times that confuses the point.
In this case, though, the characters end up more or less where they started and everything in between is a bit monot. This could be a very clever, sophisticated novel that just went over my head, but I don't think that's the case.
