Ohhh man this was a great book!!! The twists and turns, the tense moments, the action! This is a slow burn so be prepared for that. Oh man, I devoured this in one afternoon. We have Nikita who was given to the Yakuza to pay a debt her father had. She was taught her only worth was her virtue and she was punished with a very heavy hand. She wasn’t loved by anyone in her family because feelings were a weakness. The Yakuza didn’t want a Russian in their home so they sent her with the Irish. Declan was in charge for overseeing her, and he took it very seriously. Went an attack took place while wife of other heads of the syndicate were around the leader of the Yakuza blamed Nikita. Instead of taking her life Declan offered to marry her to bring her in to the family. Neither of them wanted to be married but it was the only way for her to leave with her life. Watching the growth of Nikita and Declan’s relationship was so stressful because the communication was not there. But with the help of friends the figure it out and the HEA is everything you could want. This kept me on the edge the entire time, the story was amazing!
