To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
2.0

A clearly-written and well-crafted novel about the pains of growing up and learning to deal with the hypocrisy. However, the means used to achieve the novel's objective may not have aged well with time. A premise that was perhaps once boundary-breaking is now overly-simplistic, enabling the reader to feel as if they are above making the mistakes perpetrated in the novel. A good novel for opening up individuals up to bias, but perhaps not in pushing readers to actually confront the biases within themselves.
