I wouldn't say I hated this, more that I wasn't as fond of the female main character as I was with the original couple in the first book of the series. The romance felt odd at times and the subplot wasn't my favorite with how the dynamics affected the relationship. It was mediocre for me after that first book. But still enjoyable.
