Everything good about the first book, turned up to 11. Kingfisher takes the clocktaur storyline to a satisfying conclusion and sprinkles in delightful details along the way. I especially loved getting to know the gnoles and their society and language better. I wouldn’t mind a book about Learned Edmund and his cooperation with the gnoles to write that gnole book.
