American Vampire, Vol. 2 by Scott Snyder, Rafael Albuquerque, Mateus Santolouco

4.0

Really enjoyed this. Didn't realize it was the second volume but it didn't matter - you don't need to read the first one for it to make sense, which was nice.

How had I never heard about it before? Vampires, noir - it's right up my alley. I happened to find a copy by the recyling bin, pages falling out, and thought, heck, I'll give it a read before it gets recycled. Got sucked in immediately. Classic noir mixed with gothic elements and an engaging story. Never got too gross-out shocking or violent, which I appreciated, but it did toe the line at points.

I've ordered Volume 1 now since I enjoyed this one so much. Good stuff, I'm glad I stumbled across it.
